Relocation of the bus stop at the entrance to Vasina Street may indicate that the construction of the first Marriott hotel in Belgrade is about to start.
People at PFB Properties, the project investor, said late last year that they had obtained all necessary permits for the construction of the hotel Courtyard by Marriott in Belgrade, adding that the works should commence in early 2014.
The first indication that the transformation of the former building of Jugodrvo into a modern hotel may start soon came from the Belgrade city administration that has announced in a release that part of the pavement and street lane will be occupied until 20 May 2015 because of works on the corner of Vase Carapica Street and Dositejeva Street (the location of future Marriott hotel), which is the reason why the Trg Republike (Republic Square) bus stop has been temporarily relocated.
This release reads that the Public Transportation Directorate has picked a new location for the temporary bus stop Trg Republike - an 18-meter space in front of the building at 14 Vase Carapica Street, behind the junction of Vasina and Dobracina and the pedestrian crossing in Vasina Street.
Let us remind that the representatives of the PSP Farman company, whose subsidiary is PFB Properties, and the Marriott International hotel chain signed a managerial agreement in late 2011 to build the first Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Belgrade.
Courtyard by Marriott is a hotel brand that is primarily intended for business people. The hotel in Belgrade will include 115 rooms that meet all technical standards of the brand as well as all accompanying amenities that one such facility must have.
