Company "Alliance One Tobacco" in Serbia has expressed its worry for the difficulties the tobacco production in Serbia is facing and estimated that the rules of CEFTA agreement put the domestic manufacturers of cigarettes into unfavorable positions when compared to the others.

- The integrations and economic merging, such as trade agreement between the countries of central Europe, represent positive trend for Serbia and the region. However, the creation of terms on the market is a danger to domestic production of cigarettes, which also has impact on the agricultural production of tobacco - says the Manager of "Alliance One Tabacco" in Serbia Dušan Cmiljić.

According to his estimate, the solution to the problem lies in the protection of agricultural manufacturers of tobacco through long-term planning and the production conditions known in advance, as well as through stimulation of the manufacturers with premiums.
