Turkish investors mulling partnership to build railway cars in Smederevo
Minister without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin talked Monday (11 March 2013) with Smederevo Mayor Jasna Avramovic about prospective investments from Turkey, where Ugljanin is going to be in two days.
As the Cabinet of the Smederevo mayor announced in a release, Ugljanin said that Turkish investors were interested in entering into a partnership to build railway cars and mentioned Gosa from Smederevska Palanka and Smederevo-based Zelvoz in that context.
Ugljanin, who is also a co-chair of the Commission for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Turkey, noted that the aim was to get interlocutors from abroad interested in a possible partnership at the forthcoming session of the Mixed Committee of Turkey and Serbia.
- Smederevo has an excellent geopolitical position - with the Danube River on one side and a highway on the other side, and there is also an airport, railroad... We have all the prerequisites for economic development - the minister assessed.
Smederevo Mayor Jasna Avramovic added that the city management was intensively working on projects and creating suitable conditions for foreign investors.
