The World Congress of the International Road Federation (WORLD CONGRESS IRF 2024) was held this year in Istanbul, and the award for environmental protection management was given to the Morava Corridor project, which the Republic of Serbia, through the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, is developing with the partners from the Bechtel ENKA consortium, the ministry announced.

The award was received by the director of the PE Corridors of Serbia, Aleksandar Antic, together with representatives of the contractor.

On this occasion, Antic pointed out that the award was a special recognition, considering that Serbia was one big construction site and that the Morava Corridor was the longest project being built at that moment, where, along with the aspect of the travelers’ safety, Bechtel ENKA paid special attention precisely to environmental protection, taking into account the flow of the river West Morava, in the length of nearly 60 kilometers.

This award is an incentive for an even more efficient realization of the project, considering that another 30 new kilometers from Krusevac to Vrnjacka Banja will soon be ready for traffic, the ministry says.
