Two countries to look for partner for continuation of construction of highway to Montenegro
Following the signing of the Joint Letter to the European Commission on the Belgrade-Bar Railroad with the minister of transport of Montenegro, Maja Vukicevic, he talked with the Montenegrin colleague and the deputy prime minister of Montenegro, Milun Zogovic, about the completion of the construction of the highway to Montenegro.
According to Vesic, the talks went in the direction of a joint presentation and attempt for the two countries to find a partner that would build 108 kilometers in Serbia and 50 kilometers in Montenegro.
The minister added that the same was being done with the Government of North Macedonia for the railroad.
– I am sure that we will thereby provide an additional impulse to the construction of this highway which is important for both countries and for the nations and the people and the citizens who live in Serbia and Montenegro – said Vesic, as announced on the ministry’s website. He added that, during the meeting, the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services (SMATSA) had been discussed as well, that is, how to change the founding act of that joint company.
– We are open to a continuation of the cooperation when it comes to joint border crossings as well, so as to shorten the waiting time by at least a half, because, instead of two checks, there will be only one, and those who use the roads will be able to function more quickly – said Vesic.
