First Section of Belgrade Subway to Be Built from Zeleznik to “Danube” Station – Demolition of 13 Residential and 47 Business Buildings Planned
The Belgrade Land Development Public Agency has made preliminary estimates of the land that needs to be obtained and “cleaned from the facilities”, and the area amounts to 603,783 m2, in four Belgrade municipalities. The number of the families, as well as the number of active business activities in the facilities planned for demolition, as said, is not known.
Phase 1 of the first line encompasses a section with a total of 14 stations: Zeleznik, Makis, Zarkovo, Bele vode, Trgovacka Street, Pozeska Street, Banovo Brdo Park, Ada Ciganlija, Belgrade Fair, Gazela Bridge, Sava Square, Republic Square, Skadarlija and Danube.
The works for the project will be done underground for the most part, but, as said, the construction of all the stations and some other accompanying components of the project, such as the substations and the manholes, will be done aboveground.
– All the areas need to be prepared for the works, which entails obtaining the land through expropriation or administrative transfer, as well as the removal of the existing facilities on all the areas covered by the plan – the documentation says.
The jobs of the solving of property-legal relations, as well as the removal of residential, auxiliary and business facilities on the expropriated/administratively transferred land, are carried out by the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency.
– The land which is obtained covers mostly building land, but also partly the land that is used for agricultural purposes. The residential facilities are varied and cover private houses, legal and illegal, with auxiliary facilities, but also facilities for the housing of one or more families which are owned by public companies and enterprises – it is said.
Business facilities, it is added, are also varied and encompass gas stations, individual outlets of various purposes, office complexes with numerous outlets and a city green market with counters and outlets.
The document points out that the number of the families which live in the affected facilities, as well as their status (owners, tenants) is not known, nor is the number of active business activities in the affected facilities, or their status (owners, tenants), known.
The deadline for the application at the tender is December 29, and more details (in Serbian) can be found HERE.
