Since the beginning of the year, 2.5 million tons of coal have been imported to Serbia, and the plan is for a total of 4.2 million tons of coal to be imported this year, Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) announced.

EPS said for the Novosti daily that the supply of the citizens and the economy with electrical energy was stable and that all production capacities worked as planned, as well as that the load factor and the accumulation at hydro power plants were good.

– The production of coal at mines is going as planned and without an obstacle, and the planned overhauls are in progress as well, so that the facilities would prepare as well as possible for the winter season – EPS said.

This year, consumers from Serbia are looking at another electricity and gas price increase from November, Novosti writes. The daily reminds that, based on the arrangement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), previously, on January 1, electricity prices increased 8%, whereas gas prices increased 11%, and electricity prices then increased 8% on May 1, whereas gas prices increased 10%.
