Air Serbia connects Belgrade with Hanover and Lyon

Air Serbia commenced direct flights on the new route between Belgrade and Hanover, Germany, as well as between the Serbian capital and Lyon, France.

The inaugural flights were greeted with a traditional water-cannon salute at Hanover Airport, located 11 kilometres north of the city, as well as at St Exupéry Airport, located 20 kilometres southeast of Lyon. Representatives of Air Serbia and the airport attended the ceremonies marking the occasion.

In addition to Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt-Hahn and Cologne, Hanover is Air Serbia’s seventh destination within Germany. Flights to Hanover will operate three times a week during the summer season and twice a week during the winter flight schedule. Flights to Lyon, the second destination of Air Serbia in France after Paris, will operate twice a week.

“By launching services to Hanover and Lyon, we will diversify the existing offer for passengers and further strengthen our position in Germany and France, both very important markets for our airline. We are looking forward to expanding the network with new destinations, since in the coming days we will establish flights to another destination in Germany - Nuremberg,” said Bosko Rupic, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.

By establishing this service, Air Serbia can provide good connections, via Belgrade, between Hanover and other cities in its network, such as: Athens, Bucharest, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Larnaca, Podgorica, Sarajevo, Skopje, Thessaloniki, Sofia, Split, Tirana and Tivat.
