Serbian "Steppe falcon" ranked among the 5 most beautiful postage stamps in Europe

The stamp of the Post of Serbia "Steppe falcon" ("Stepski soko") has been ranked among the top five most beautiful postage stamps in Europe after the international internet voting, which ended on September 9. The final winner will be announced on October 6, when the expert jury will declare the most beautiful European stamp for 2021, according to the announcement by the Post of Serbia.

The stamp issued by the Post of Serbia competed with stamps from 52 other European countries within the selection for the most beautiful postage stamp "EUROPE 2021", taking place every year under the auspices of the Association of European Public Postal Operators PostEurop.

This year's theme of the competition for the most beautiful European stamp is endangered national wild species, and the Post of Serbia responded with a philatelic edition bearing motifs of a steppe falcon (Falco cherrug) and an eared shrew (Eremophila alpestris). This edition is the result of the cooperation of the Post of Serbia with the Natural History Museum in Belgrade.
