New machine for malignant diseases in Clinical Center "Kragujevac"
The Minister of Health of Serbia, Tomica Milosavljević, put in operation a modern machine for so-called Brachitherapy yesterday (December 28, 2009) in Clinical Center Kragujevac. The patients with gynecological malignancies will not have to go to Belgrade for treatment any more. The waiting list for radiation includes more than 180 patients who traveled to Belgrade every Friday for treatment.
The CEO of the Clinical Center, Radomir Pavlović, says that 15m EUR have been invested in the cutting-edge technology over the last seven years, but he points out that there is a shortage of technicians who are trained for this type of therapy.
