Building permit for Belgrade-Stara Pazova railway issued

The Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure issued the decision on the building permit for works on the reconstruction of the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway, the first section of the Belgrade-Budapest high speed railway, on July 18, 2017.

The permit pertains to the works within the first phase of the modernization of the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway, in the length of 40.4 km, which entails the construction of a viaduct and a tunnel.

The funds have been secured from the Russian loan for the modernization of Serbian railways (Annex 3.1), and the value of the agreement between the contractor, RZD International, and the Infrastructure of the Serbian Railways amounts to USD 337.6 million.

The value of the works on the open railway, as part of the second phase of the reconstruction and the modernization of the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad railway, will be defined by Annex 3.2 to the loan agreement.
