iPhone celebrating 10th anniversary

Apple’s iPhone, which initiated the smartphone revolution after a rocky start, is celebrating ten years since the appearance of the first model this week.

Since June 29, 2007, Apple has sold over a billion iPhones, but the first model, which was launched without the App Store and limited to the AT&T network, had very limited options compared to today’s models.

The initial sales of the eventually legendary model were very bad and Apple was forced to lower the price so as to sell as many phones during the holiday season. Nevertheless, iPhone became increasingly popular among users, especially after 2008, when App Store was launched, enabling the creation and sale of numerous applications for the smartphone.

Its loyal users are now impatiently awaiting the appearance of iPhone 8, most likely to take place this autumn.
