Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic spoke Tuesday with a delegation of the AFI Europe company about the implementation of project in Kneza Milosa Street in Belgrade, where this investor plans to build a multipurpose commercial facility on the former site of the building of the Federal Ministry of Interior.
- The Serbian government is always ready to support big projects and help investments that create new jobs prior to implementation - said Mihajlovic, who is also the minister of construction, transportation and infrastructure.
In a talk with the delegation of AFI Europe led by General Manager Avi Barzilaj, she reminded that the construction permitting process in Serbia had been shortened the year before to maximum 28 days, stressing that the issuing of electronic building permits had commenced January 1st, 2016.
In order to maximally accelerate all the activities pertaining to the resolution of legal, ownership and other issues related to the project in Kneza Milosa Street, the Ministry is going to form a task force that will be made up of the representatives of the Ministry, the City of Belgrade, and the AFI Europe company.
This company is known to the Serbian public for the business park Airport City which it built in New Belgrade.
The former building of the Federal Ministry of Interior in Kneza Milosa Street in Belgrade was damaged in NATO bombing in 1999.

According to some earlier announcements, the initial plan for the site of former Ministry of Interior was to build a Plaza Centers shopping center. The former building of the Federal Ministry of Interior, which is a cultural heritage, is in the possession of this company since 2007.
